Note to Parents
Dear
Parents,
It has been another eventful week for our students. On Sunday Mrs.Bucklin’s class received their First
Communion. Congratulations to all
our second graders and special thanks to Mrs. Bucklin and Mrs. Kroner for
preparing the students! Tuesday
evening our kindergarten students and their mothers gathered in the gym for an
early Mother’s Day Tea. This year
it was another memorable event for both the mothers and their children!
Thanks to Mrs. Adams, Mrs. Dunlap, Mrs. Harth, and Mrs. Sheehan for their
work in making the evening so special!
Last night our eighth graders were confirmed by Bishop Lucas.
It is an important step in their faith development, and Bishop Lucas
encouraged them to use the gifts of the Holy Spirit as they finish their eighth
grade year and move on to high school. Special
thanks to Mrs. Pierce for her preparation of the students for Confirmation. Today
several of our eighth graders are participating in the State History Fair.
We know they will be excellent representatives of our school!
Next week all of our eighth graders will extend their learning to the
community for their Days of Discovery with their class trip to Chicago ending
their week. Tomorrow
is an early dismissal day with car riders being dismissed at 1:30 p.m. and
walkers being dismissed at approximately 1:35 p.m.
It is also a Spirit Day sponsored by PSA.
For a donation of $1.00, students may wear any BSS shirt with jeans or
uniform shorts. For this Spirit Day
students may also wear capris or shorts that are below their knees.
No shorter shorts will be acceptable Don’t
forget that our book fair is open after all the Masses this weekend.
The buy one, get one free sale at the book fair provides a perfect
opportunity for parents to promote summer reading for their children.
Hope all of you are able to enjoy a relaxing weekend!
Happy Mother’s Day to all our mothers!!!
Sincerely,
Mrs.
Kathy Wear
Congratulations!
Congratulations
to Hadley Nyre, a first grader, on the birth of her baby brother, Charles
William. He was born on April

brother, Henry, too! State

of I in Champaign last Saturday.
Congratulations to the following students who earned honors in their
specific categories: John Belz, Health Science Award; Joseph Mocharnuk,
Environmental Award; and Anthony Nestler, Consumer Science Award. We’re proud of your success at state, seventh graders!
Special thanks to Mrs. Harris and Mrs. Healy for their guidance! Dental
Forms Due!
Dental forms are due no later than next Wednesday, May 15, for students
in kindergarten, second, and sixth grades.
You must submit a form indicating your child has had a dental exam by May
15 or has one scheduled within 60 days. If
the office does not receive verification of an exam or appointment by May 15,
the state directs us to hold student report cards.
Lunch Tomorrow!Tomorrow is a make-up day for previously ordered hot dog lunches. PSA is sending home a flyer today to explain how the missed lunches are being made up. A list of students who have ordered hot dog lunches will be attached. If your child’s name is not on the list, he/she does not have a lunch ordered. However, extra hot dog lunches will be available for purchase tomorrow for $2.00 each. Thank
You!
Thank you to the first graders who donated recess equipment to our
school. We appreciate Hadley Nyre
and Ben Thiele requesting donations for playground equipment in lieu of gifts
for their recent combined birthday party.
Also, thanks to the second graders who donated items for the Holy Family
Food Pantry as requested by Benjamin Yutzy for his birthday party.
We appreciate the generosity of our students and their families in
helping those less fortunate and in appreciating the many blessings we have. American
Heart Association
Thank you to all who raised money to benefit the American Heart
Association during our Jump & Hoops for Heart fundraiser.
The school raised approximately $1.900.00!
Congratulations to Sam Faivre who raised over $500.00 for this great
cause! Athletic
